Banking
The banking system in Dorado is critical to the activies of civilains, criminal, law and all business. Many activities will revolve around the making or distribution of currency and the Banks are the central hub for this.
Locality
All bank locations in game are local and do not share a balance or inventory with any other bank. This means moving currency or valuables from one place to another requires physical transport, and depending on the amount of acceptable risk the character may wish to hire security or even the law to support the transfer. Occasionally banks may have agree to allow a note of transfer between banks that will be settle by the banks themselves, but this is limited in amount and frequency.
Loans
Player loans are available from the bank, but require repayment with interest, and are subject to the banks on hand money. Loans are not available to characters who have a negative balance with the bank, or are wanted by the law.
Currency Exchange
Banks will offer currency exchange in the form gold, silver and paper currency. The exchange rates will be based on historical numbers and may be influenced by the current state of the world. Exchange rates may differ from region to region based on the local economy.
Safe Deposit Boxes
Safe deposit boxes are available for rent at the bank. These boxes are secure and can only be accessed by players with the safe deposit box key. These boxes while small cannot be stolen from are not subject to search by law enforcement.
Bank Robbery
Players may attempt to rob the bank, but this is a high risk activity that should require advanced planning, players with special skills and equipment and a good plan. A system will be in place that will start a timer when the bank is being robbed and law enforcement will be notified via telegram and "civilians" based on the proximity to the town and bank.
Debt
If players are unable to pay their debts to the bank, the bank may issue bounties for the player to be captured and sent to prison to pay off their debts.
